Why? Because even after that, what could he see as far as Israel was concerned? Nothing good.</li></ul><br><ul><li>Elisha was profoundly depressed and discouraged in his service to the Lord.</li></ul><br>Jesus shows the disciples something: a vision of the goal. Jesus is transfigured before them, in light so powerful and blindingly bright that they are stunned.<br><br>Peter reminds them that what they saw on the mountain was Jesus as He would be when He comes in power and great glory at the end of the age.<br>&nbsp;<br>What is our hope in those times of tedious, depressing trials?<br><br><ul><li>A sure testimony, an eyewitness account of the power, the glory, and the majesty of our Lord’s return to the earth.</li></ul><br><ul><li>Many times, we also fail, not because we're facing such hardships or threatened by terrible dangers, but because we lose sight of our destination.</li></ul><br>John writes at the beginning of his gospel in chapter 1:14, “We beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”</div></div></div></div></div></section>]]></content:encoded>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<section class="sp-section sp-scheme-0" data-index="1" data-scheme="0"><div class="sp-section-slide"  data-label="Main" ><div class="sp-section-content" ><div class="sp-grid sp-col sp-col-24"><div class="sp-block sp-text-block " data-type="text" data-id="0" style=""><div class="sp-block-content"  style=""><b>GPNAZ TEACHING OUTLINE – JULY 27, 2025<br>More Wisdom for 2025: Malachi: What I know about God?<br>The Word of the Lord: Malachi 2:1-9</b><br><br><b>Five Fatal Flaws of the Priest in Malachi’s Day</b><ul><li><b>They dishonored God’s holiness.</b>&nbsp;</li></ul>Look at verse 2: “If you do not listen and if you do not resolve to honor my name,” says the Lord Almighty, “I will send a curse on you, and I will curse your blessings.” Yes, I have already cursed them, because you have not resolved to honor me.”<br>&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<ul><li><b>They departed from the way. </b></li></ul>&nbsp;<br><br><ul><li><b>They destroyed others.</b></li></ul>Look at the second half of verse 8 – “and by your teaching have caused many to stumble. Whether we like it or not, others are watching us.”<br><br><br><ul><li><b>They desecrated the covenant.</b></li></ul>“You have violated the covenant with Levi, says the LORD Almighty.”<br><br><br><ul><li><b>They were despised by the people.</b></li></ul>Look at verse 9 – “So I have caused you to be despised and humiliated before all the people, because you have not followed my ways but have shown partiality in matters of the law.” They were people pleasers - they valued what the people thought more than what God did.<br>&nbsp;<br><b>One of the lessons of Malachi is a lesson in the failures of the priests. <br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; We want to learn from their mistakes and search our hearts <br>to make sure we don’t fall into any of the same traps.</b><br>&nbsp;<br>Have I failed to view God with great honor?<br>Have I failed to follow God’s ways?<br>Have I hurt others by my bad example?<br>Have I lost my passionate commitment to following God?<br>Have I lost respect for others through the compromises I've made in my life?<br>&nbsp;</div></div></div></div></div></section>]]></content:encoded>
