Excavate - Acts 1

The book has been known as The Acts of the Apostles, but a more accurate description would be the Acts of the Holy Spirit.

The Word of the Lord: Acts 1:1-11

Acts 1:4, “Do not leave Jerusalem but wait, for the gift my father promised, which you have heard me speak about.”

Luke 24:49, “I am going to send you what my Father has promised but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

Before Jesus commands his followers to go, he tells them to wait. We do not like to Wait, but Waiting has some Benefits.

  • Waiting helps us with impulsiveness.

  • Waiting is hard, but we do it in every area of our lives. So, why don’t we wait for our spiritual lives?

Mission: On the journey to be a blessing:
by Worshipping, Growing, and Serving... Together!

Isaiah 40:28-31, “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall.

But those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.”

Psalm 27:14 says, “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. By waiting, we learn to place our hope in God, not in our circumstances.”

This is not just A story; it is OUR story as the people of God.
