Breadcrumbs: The Handshake – Jeremiah 1-17
“My future spiritual life will only be different
when I make my present spiritual life different.”
Jeremiah lives a life of loneliness and depression and as a result he acquires a nickname: The weeping prophet.
Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born, I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” RSV
6-7, Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.” But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’; for to all to whom I send you shall go, and whatever I command you shall speak.” RSV
Jeremiah Chapter 11:
Jeremiah 15:16, “When your words were found, I ate them; they were my joy and my hearts delight” NIV
Ask God: Lord what do you want me to learn from you today?
Jeremiah Chapter 17:7-8, “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:9, “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure.
Jeremiah 29:11-13, For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
A.W. Tozer said, “It is not that we don’t want God; We do. We just want other things more”.
Jeramiah 18:1-6, "This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: “Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you, my message.”
So, I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so, the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.
Then the word of the Lord came to me. He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel."
What will I Allow God to Do with My Life if I Fully Surrender to Him
and Allow Him to Make In Me What He Wants to See?
