Chapter 1
- Nomi is distraught. She lost her husband and two of her sons. She goes back to her hometown. And not only is she distraught emotionally but it has taken a toll on her physically. She goes out full but comes back empty.
Ruth 1:20-21,“Don’t call me Naomi,” she told them. “Call me Mara because the Almighty has made my life very bitter. I went away full, but the Lord has brought me back empty.
Chapter 2
- My mother in law is Naomi and I am taking care of her. And he says, we know. We all have heard how you are taking care of her. How you have been kind to her. The word has gotten out.
- In chapter 2 we get to another season of life. Ruth goes out empty but comes back full.
