SIX Benefits of the Word of God Today

• The Word of God is the penetrating Sword of the Spirit.

Ephesians 6:17, “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
 

• The Word of God will reflect what it sees in your life.

James 1:22-25, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.”
 

• The Word of God is convicting.

Jeremiah 23:29, “is not my word like fire, “declares the Lord, “And like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?”
 

• The Word of God is where faith is founded.

Romans 10:17, “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of God.”
 

• The Word of God is food for the believer.

1st Peter 2:2-3,” Like newborn babies, crave spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.”
 

• The Word of God is the guiding light of the believer.

Psalm 119:105, “Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light on my path.”
